Las Vegans are outraged and fearful of the apparent spreading of Hepatitis and/or the HIV AIDS viruses by the “Desert Shadow Endoscopy Center” of Las Vegas. We have learned that the Center reused syringes and other sensitive equipment improperly.
The Southern Nevada Health District suggests that people who were paitients at the facility between March ‘04 and Jan 11th get tested for HIV and Hepatitis.
Health Officials alerted the public after learning of at least 5 people infected with the hepatitis C virus presumably as a result of the Center’s policy of reusing their equipment, including syringes, from patient to patient.
