RIVIERA CASINO EMPLOYEES MOURN THE SUDDEN DEATH OF A GREATLY BELOVED CO-WORKER
RANDOLPH LEE MYERS
5/24/1957-5/17/2007
A STRAPPING WELL MANNERED AND LOYAL YOUNG MAN WHO LIVED TO PLEASE AND COMFORT EVERYONE HE MET!
Larry’s Las Vegas has learned that the entire casino staff of the Riviera Casino is in total shock and mourning of the sudden death of 49-year-old, Randolph Lee Myers. He was a Leader to all that served with him. Most employees are inconsolable. There are many cliches about how someone was “such a nice guy” in life. This is one case where God has taken suddenly a truly caring and honest human being that devoted his career to the success of His Family and the Riviera Casino.
When contacted his supervisors had nothing but praise for him and his services. For instance, Table Games Manager- Frank DeLetto simply said, “I just can’t believe it, Randy was a great employee who loved to praise his children to all he met. Randy’s optimism was the motivating factor in many of the Riviera Casino employee’s success.”
“ I loved his collection of neckties! He was such a gentle soul, without a mean bone in his body, I never heard him raise his voice. He was always there to help everyone else. He was always asking me if I needed a break, or anything else, little did I know that he needed the break. The last night he worked, he asked me how I was doing, that he had heard I had been sick. He truly was concerned for everyone’s well being. ‘Yes’, he will be greatly missed.” - Irene
“I too was in total shock when I heard that Randy had passed away in his sleep. I got goosebumps and cried. Randy was the nicest casino worker I had met in my 28 years of dealing. He was very caring and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He never said anything unkind to anyone or about anyone and was a very positive person. Even though I retired from the Riviera he will be greatly missed by me as I looked forward to seeing him whenever I stopped by to see my co-workers.” Ziggy Zohany
Remembering a Friend: Roger D’Angelo
“As a coworker and a friend of Randy’s. I just want to say, you know how when you’re working, you look up and see other coworkers working around you. You could always see Randy, respectfully interacting with concern and compassion for others. He was surely a man I enjoyed being around. We had many conversations about his children and how he LOVED them. As a father of six, I felt, when Randy spoke of his family, he knew that God gave them to him to love, cherish and take care of. We spoke of and shared the stories of our children together. The love in his heart was that of a man filled with exploding love and feelings for his children, Cora and Ryan. He was so proud of them an he loved them so very, very much. We have lost a great coworker at the Riviera and I, a good friend. There is no doubt in my mind that Randy Lee Myers is there with God above. And together with God, He will still be Loving and watching over Cora and Ryan until they are together again with him, in Heaven.”
“Randolph Lee Myers will forever be known as the guy who out of 8 hours of work, would spend at least 3 hours of that time discussing his family, especially his two young children. Cora and Ryan were his life. I have never met anyone who was as devoted to his children as Randy Myers. THEY where His heroes. For instance, we were honored to change our schedules to make sure he attended as many of his children’s baseball games as possible.”
“He was a truly well loved man and he is surely missed.” Larry Long
