It’s all Vegas. That’s one thing you can say about the Peppermill. Decor that looks like, what would happen if you put a Denny’s
inside a strip joint. “Glitter Gulch” style neon and purple light everywhere. Yet, at the same time, completely fantastic service (with one exception) and really great food.
If you enjoy watching a professional team on high octane pumping out the business and bringing in the revenue, just sit at the Peppermill’s counter during a busy breakfast rush. The people working here are real pros, hot made to order food is flowing out of the kitchen like a river with no returns that I saw,
waitresses are practically running (click on photo above!) to serve customers and the cash register just keeps ringing. It’s also very Vegas and hustle-bustle capitalism. It’s a real wonder to see and the food is great. The Denver Omelette ($10.95) was very good, very hot and packed with ham, onions, green peppers, with a large portion of hash browns on the side.
That’s one thing
you won’t have to worrk about at The Peppermill - walking away hungry. I can pack away the food, but here even I had trouble finishing huge meals like the “Munch’s Breakfast Special” ($11.75) - which, was delicious and just full of onions, peppers, mushroom, tomato and sausage, with eggs and hash brown potatoes. You may not have to eat the rest of the day after you have one of these.
Also for you Southerners out there, we’re originally from Texas and
Mrs. Salmon especially just craves some good Southern style biscuits and gravy ($7.50) once in a while, so we were excited to see that on the breakfast menu The Peppermill delivered, with a HUGE side of hash browns and a whole boat of gravy.
It was just a crazy amount of food and nice for us to find Southern style comfort food in Las Vegas - even if we were sitting in a purple neon booth!
Finally, for a great “I’m deathly hung over in Vegas” brunch/lunch, The Peppermill has an excellent “Soup of the Day with Salad and Bread” special ($8.50) that is just wonderful.
The salad is just as fresh, cold and delicious as it could be and the soup warms you up from the inside out.
Overall I can say I’ve never had a bad meal at The Peppermill. It’s not the cheapest in town (by far!) but it is someplace you really should experience if you’re getting to know Las Vegas.
The Peppermill is attached to a separate section of the business “The Fireside Lounge” which has a very cool look and very relaxed atmosphere most of the time. However there is a bar manager, or bartender there named Gary, I would seriously do my best to avoid him, maybe even avoid the Fireside Lounge when he is on shift. I’ve personally experienced some heavy disrespect from this person and also witnessed him be rude to other customers.
We will save that whole story for another day, but I almost never went back to the Fireside Lounge, even the Peppermill at all after this Gary bar guy was so rude to me and others. The overall Peppermill experience is just too good to let one rude guy on one rude night ruin it, however. We still recommend the Peppermill and the Fireside Lounge is a pretty darn cool place when Gary’s not around! And the wings are great there, too!
